Hello,

I am Mike. I enjoy camping, fishing and backpacking and try to get outdoors as much as possible. I want to help people get the most out of their outdoor experiences and help others reconnect with the outdoors.

I have been camping, hiking and fishing most of my life. I spent 8 years in the Marine Corp Infantry and have experienced outdoor living in just about every environment you can imagine.

During my time in the military I received professional training in outdoor living, land navigation, rock climbing, search & rescue and survival techniques. I am now a husband and a father and enjoy the outdoors with my family whenever we get a chance.

I believe my experience in the outdoors would qualify me to put together this camping website. You won't find the same "canned" camping information here you find on other websites. Most of the articles you will find here are written from my own personal knowledge. When I need to fact check my work or find out information I get it from publicly available information sources such as the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

From time to time I will publish information from other authors or sources but I promise to make sure it is quality content you will find interesting and informative.

In fact, I am always looking for new content, photos, videos and stories about camping and the outdoors. Most of the content you submit will be placed in the Member Submitted Content category and will be credited to you. You can put a link back to your camping and outdoor related website or any personal or family blog. Other people will be able to comment on your content and you can comment on others. There is no risk. If you change your mind I will remove it. No questions asked.

Also if you are a campground owner or manager and have an article or video showcasing your campground available I will place it on the website free of charge. All you have to do is ask.
