RV Camping

RV camping is the king of camping. RV camping is the most comfortable type of camping to go on. A RV is basically a house on wheels. There are both motorized RVs and tow behind trailers. You can enjoy most of the amenities you enjoy at home.

RV camping is less expensive than other family vacations. You can buy your own RV or rent one for your camping trip. You can go RV camping for considerably less then taking a plane to your destination and renting a hotel room. For long term camping RVs are the best choice although they are also good for weekend trips too.

Family Camping

Welcome To The Family Campsite
Family camping is one of America's greatest national pastimes. Camping as a family is a wonderful way to form close family bonds. There are many ways to go camping from tent camping to recreational vehicles (RVs).
Family camping doesn't just include camping with children. Husbands and wives can enjoy quality time together while camping. Many retired couples spend a good portion of the year camping while traveling the country and visiting family. Most of those couples will say they have learned more about their spouse, in a few years of camping, then all their years together.
Benefits of Family Camping

  • Family camping is a great way to travel and see the country
  • Spending many hours on the road together teaches everyone in the family tolerance toward one another.
  • Without the distractions of television and home life children become creative in finding ways to spend their time.
  • A strong family is one that forms traditions to share together. A family camping trip at regular times during the year is a tradition many families enjoy.
  • Everyone in the family learns a lot more then sitting at home. There are many educational opportunities while camping, from viewing wildlife to visiting historical places.
  • There are literally thousands of campgrounds you can visit. You can camp in a different place every time and never camp at the same place in your lifetime.
  • When camping you meet many new people some that will become your friends for life. Children learn quickly to make new friends and develop tolerance for differences.
  • Camping is generally cheaper then other family vacations. A family campsite costs a fraction of what a night stay at a hotel costs.

How to get started
Many families start off tent camping. You don't need to go out and buy a lot of expensive camping equipment to start off with. Just the basics. You can outfit a family of 4 with all of the basic camping supplies for under $400. Some of the basic camping equipment you need are a family camping tent, sleeping bags, camping stoves, camping lantern, cooler and cooking supplies.
Many camping families who come to love camping soon move up to a camping trailer or RV. RVs are a great way to go. RVs are basically mini homes on wheels. Camping in a RV is more comfortable then family tent camping. The level of comfort you enjoy with a RV is usually worth it. But you still enjoy all the benefits of family camping.
