Geocaching
Ahoy! Matey! Geocaching is a very popular modern day treasure hunting game. Basically people hide small caches containing a logbook and filled with various low cost trinkets and toys. They then post the coordinates on various websites dedicated to the activity.
You then seek out and find these "treasure chests." Once found you are expected to put your name in the log book and trade one of the items found inside the cache with something of your own.
Geocaching is a great family camping activity. It is a fun time for everyone. Dad or Mom can find the general area of the cache and the children can help search for it.
The use of a Global Positioning Device (GPS) is required to play. Buying a GPS Device does not have to break your wallet. There are all types of GPS Devices. You can choose from high end models costing hundreds of dollars to some basic models costing less then $100 but with limited capabilities and accuracy.
